Poetry: “Once Again”

Once Again              by: Rose Clifford

Bring me to the river,

the one right by your house.

We shall run up the stream,

Singing songs so long forgotten.

Bring me to the river,

and we will share secrets,

in the low light of the sunset.

Fading into the smearing reds,

softening smiles on our faces.

Bring me to the river,

we shall crunch leaves,

under the soles of our feet,

uncaring towards the dirt,

and the scraps on our skin.

Bring me to the river,

let’s become children once again.
